When is it an ideal time to start preparing for the SAT or ACT ?

Updated: Dec 24, 2021

Many students wait until spring time of Junior year to start preparing for the SAT/ACT. It is sort of late in the game because then students struggle to juggle so much between AP exams, homework assignments, and SAT/ACT prep. If that is the case, most students who wait until then, don't achieve such great scores on the SAT or ACT. It is important to prepare for the SAT or ACT sooner than later. Studies have shown that students who start preparing in advance increase their chances of scoring higher. I recommend to start preparing in Mid year of 10th grade or as late as during the summer before Junior year. Then, students will be fully prepared to take either one of the tests by the end of the summer before 11th grade and hopefully achieve their desired score.
